Fesmire Baseball Field

Directions to Union University

The Fesmire Baseball Field is located on campus at Union University (1050 Union University Drive; Jackson, TN 38305) and is located just inside the south entrance (Country Club Lane entrance).

Fesmire Field is the name given to both the Union University baseball and softball fields. The Fesmire Fields were complete in time for the 1998 baseball and softball seasons. The current fields replaced the old Union baseball field which stood since 1975, and softball field which was built for the first season of Union softball in 1995.

The current baseball field sits in the same location as the old field, however, it was rotated counter-clockwise to sit in it current position. The home plate on the old field was in the vicinity of the home bullpen. The two fields share the press box, restroom and concessions facilities.

In 2005, the Fesmire Fieldhouse (sitting adjacent to the baseball and softball fields) was completed. It houses a 9,000 square-foot turf room, locker rooms and offices (baseball, softball, men's soccer, women's soccer), training room, officials dressing room, and laundry.

In the fall of 2016, a new wooden outfield fence was added to replace the old worn out fence that had stood since 1998. New chain link fencing was added along the foul lines from the dugouts to the outfield fence. The fences in front of the dugouts were added for the 2016 spring season.

Fesmire Fields were named after long time Union University supporters Benny and Norma Fesmire, who were very generous to the university and to the athletic department over the years.
