BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Union University has placed 37 student-athletes on the Gulf South Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. The student-athletes represent baseball, softball, men's golf, and women's golf. Qualification for the GSC Academic Honor Roll is a 3.0 GPA.
 
The softball team led the way with 14 representatives including Amanda Chander, Whitney Christian, Caylee Crews, Summer Cross, Sam Giesler, Katie Beth Fesmire, Keaton Kirk, Carter Mansolino, Cheyenne Mauldin, Hanna Durham, Stephanie Saunders, Reagan Schrader, Paxton Sisson, and Brooke Thomas.
 
Union baseball boasted 13 student-athletes on the list including Trae Bain, Cody Cunningham, Jared Davis, Benjie Fesmire, Matthew Fuller, Jim Martin, Daniel Mathis, Derek Roof, Wacey Russell, Cody Self, Colton Speed, Jeremey Stack, and Zach Wylie.
 
Men's golf put eight players on the list including Brett Barry, Bryce Doughty, Andrew Knight, Kyle Long, Ryan Mantooth, Ben Waits, Trey Whitnell, and Kody Alexander.
 
Women's golf had two student-athletes listed including Kara Glover and Katie Smith.
 
These 37 students, combined with the 14 student-athletes on the GSC Winter Academic Honor Roll, and the 51 on the fall academic honor roll,  give Union a total of 102 students-athletes for the 2012-13 school year.
